It’s really not that difficult. For example, tuna salad doesn’t have to be made with gobs of mayonnaise. Try mashing one very ripe avocado and using that as the binding agent instead—you’ll taste a world of difference. Next time you bake something, use whole wheat flour in place of white flour. Stock up on bags of frozen berries and thaw some every once in a while for dessert—they’re naturally sweet and rich in antioxidants. Substitute wild rice or brown rice for plain white rice in just about anything—both have a lot more fiber, protein and essential nutrients.
