They say that a mom-to-be has natural nesting instincts, so doesn’t the nest make a fun shower theme?

Décor: Use a mix of bird, wheatgrass, colorful feathers and stylish patterned papers. Give craft store birdhouses a fashionable update by covering them with one single paint color, then decorating the roofs with a fabulous paper pattern. Display simple arrangements of feathers in tall vases, and fill bird nests with colorful egg-shaped candies. Fill bowls and vases with artificial lucy balls to create the look of grass, and nestle a cute mama and baby bird inside.

Cute idea: Use chipboard bird silhouettes (available at scrapbook stores) and faux wheatgrass to create a stylish, modern diaper cake that coordinates with the theme. Wrap each tier with a receiving blanket, and create a coordinating “cake topper” from the same paper used to cover the birds.
