Bigger Kids Will Break Your Heart (But at Least It's Your Heart, Not Your Toddler's)

The more your kids grow, the more social they get, and eventually -- at the park, at a birthday party, on a playdate -- they're going to run into a mean big kid. When your toddler daughter curtsies and introduces herself as Princess Ariel, some big kid will laugh at her and say, "You're not a princess and tha's not a wand -- that's just a dirty twig." It will feel like a stab in the heart and you'll want to deck that miserable, horrible 8-year-old. But the reality is, your daughter probably won't be phased in the slightest and it will just be you left wounded by the words of a third grader. (And you'll be so proud of your kid for not caring.)
