We have seen backstabbing, physical confrontations and verbal attacks take shape onscreen and written about in songs, but some celebrities can't help but take their drama with fellow stars outside of the set or recording studio -- and into the real world.
Here, see which celebrities have brushed arguments off, and others who continue to brawl with each other.
The gloves are off!
Miley Cyrus vs. Sinead O'Connor
Jason Merritt/Getty Images; David Livingston/Getty ImagesIt all started when Miley Cyrus just had to twerk and grind her way to the top of the charts. Irish singer Sinead O'Connor wrote Miley an open letter warning her to not let the music industry prostitute her. Miley retaliated on Twitter: "Before Amanda Bynes.... There was....," the "Wrecking Ball" singer posted on Oct. 3 with a screencap of Sinead's suicidal tweets from last year. Sinead responded with a second letter to which Miley replied, "I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week." And it hasn't ended there: The drama continued after Miley's fans started threatening Sinead, which led to yet another open letter.
Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West
Michel Dufour/Wireimage; George Pimentel/WireImageThis feud will go down in MTV Video Music Awards history. When an excited Taylor Swift began her acceptance speech for Best Female Video in 2009, Kanye West jumped on stage and interrupted the singer saying, "Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time." A year later, Taylor responded with the song, "You're Still an Innocent," which spoke of Kanye's immaturity.
Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj
Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic; Taylor Hill/FilmMagicTwo divas in one room? What was American Idol thinking?! Not only did viewers watch contestants compete for the coveted Idol title, but they also witnessed bickering between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. During one show, Nicki threatened to punch the singer after they disagreed on a contestant's performance. She even called Mariah "insecure" and "bitter" over Twitter. Rawr!
Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez vs. Gabriel Aubry
Gregg DeGuire/WireImage; Jesse Grant/WireImageIt wasn't a Happy Thanksgiving for the Berry-Aubry clan! After Halle Berry split from her boyfriend of five years, Gabriel Aubry, in 2010, the couple went through a nasty custody battle over their daughter Nahla, now 5. After Gabriel brought his daughter to Halle's home, he got into a physical altercation with Halle's current husband, Olivier Martinez. Gabriel sustained a broken rib, and face and head injuries, while Olivier had a broken hand and neck injuries. Aubry was arrested and booked for the fight.
Lady Gaga & Elton John vs. Madonna
Jason Merritt/Getty Images; Steve Granitz/WireImage; Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for MTVIt is the end of an era! Although Madonna is the Queen of Pop, she isn't too keen on other celebrities getting inspiration from her hits. The feud began during her MDNA tour when she said Lady Gaga took a cue from her 1989 song "Express Yourself" in Gaga's song "Born This Way." Elton John stuck up for Gaga, while trashing Madonna, telling Australia's Channel 7, "She looks like a f---ing fairground stripper. She's been so horrible to Gaga." The decade-long feud between Elton and Madonna finally ended in April when he apologized for all of his harsh public comments towards the singer.
Mariah Carey vs. Eminem
Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic; Larry Busacca/Getty Images For The Recording AcademyEminem is the last celebrity you want to fight with. Remember Mariah Carey's song "Obsessed"? That was about Eminem (she did have an Eminem look-alike, after all). After the diva released the hit song to shoot down dating rumors, Eminem retaliated with a number of songs regarding details of their sexual relationship and threats to release nude photos and voicemails to prove that they had dated. Sorry, Eminem, but you did seem kind of obsessed.
Rosie O'Donnell vs. Donald Trump
Mike Pont/FilmMagic; Robin Marchant/Getty ImagesIn 2006, Rosie O'Donnell called Donald Trump a "snake-oil salesman" on The View after he announced that he would not dethrone then-Miss USA Tara Conner for her drug scandal. He responded to People with, "Rosie will rue the words she said. I'll most likely sue her for making those false statements – and it'll be fun. Rosie's a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie." The feud continues....
Christina Aguilera vs. Kelly Osbourne
Valerie Macon/Getty Images; Jonathan Leibson/Getty Images for VarietyBack in the day, Christina Aguilera used to make fun of Kelly Osbourne's weight. With Christina's fluctuating figure over the years, it was Kelly's turn to get revenge on the singer. In August 2011, Kelly called out Christina for her weight gain on Fashion Police. "Maybe she is just becoming the fat bitch she was born to be. I don't know. She was a c**t to me. And she bought my house," she said. "She called me fat for so many f***ing years, so you know what? F**k you! You're fat, too."
LeAnn Rimes vs. Brandi Glanville
Gregg DeGuire/WireImage; Gregg DeGuire/WireImageThe feud between LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville unfolded like a soap opera. While filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights, LeAnn and co-star Eddie Cibrian (Brandi's husband!) began to have an affair. Us Weekly broke the shocking news in March 2009. This led to Brandi and Eddie splitting, and the actor soon marrying LeAnn, which began a series of never-ending twitter fights, interviews and books about the scandal.
NeNe Leakes vs. Star Jones
Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images; Jason LaVeris/FilmMagicAfter arguing on the set of Celebrity Apprentice, NeNe Leakes and Star Jones continued their confrontation off camera. During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, NeNe criticized Star. "She is bossy; she is manipulative, conniving. And I'm not even being funny. I think that is real. I honestly think that is who she is."
Charlie Sheen vs. Chuck Lorre
Steve Granitz/WireImage; Jason Kempin/Getty ImagesAfter his "winning" year in 2011 filled with goddesses, tiger blood and hard-partying, Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men when he verbally attacked showrunner Chuck Lorre after CBS suspended the series due to Charlie's wacky behavior. It seems Charlie picked a fight with the wrong man, since his character, Charlie Harper, was killed off the show. It looks like the spat has ended, though. In 2012, Chuck said, “I wish him well. I'm glad he's happy and sober."
Kim Kardashian vs. Jon Hamm
Isaac Brekken/Getty Images; Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagicDuring a 2012 interview with Elle UK, Jon Hamm put down Kim Kardashian for her lifestyle and public persona. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly." The reality star didn't take the unflattering comments sitting down. "I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless," she posted on March 12, 2012.
Bruce Willis vs. Sylvester Stallone
Hannes Magerstaedt/Getty Images; Rob Kim/FilmMagicNo one saw this one coming. After Harrison Ford was chosen to replace Bruce Willis in Expendables 3, Sylvester Stallone took to twitter to express his excitement, and to bash Bruce. "WILLIS OUT... HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!” He then added: “GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE." Someone isn't a Bruce Willis fan...
Brooke Shields vs. Tom Cruise
Jun Sato/WireImage; Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for TAO DowntownIn 2005, Tom Cruise didn't seem very, well, sane. Aside from jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch to express his love for Katie Holmes (aw?) like a mad man, he also criticized Brooke Shields for using anti-depressants. While on the Today show, the actor told Matt Lauer that the actress should not have taken antidepressants to fight postpartum depression. Brooke responded in a New York Times op-ed piece saying, "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Mr. Cruise has never suffered from postpartum depression ... And comments like those made by Tom Cruise are a disservice to mothers everywhere." Brooke later stated on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that Tom apologized for the comments.
Drake vs. Chris Brown

When fighting over Rihanna, the gloves are definitely off! In June 2012, Chris Brown and Drake got into a nasty bar fight that left five people injured, and Chris with a giant cut on his chin. They reportedly threw bottles at each other over the songtress.
