chime in nowAs co-founder of water.org, Matt Damon is more than just a “Hollywood Ambassador,” he is an active party in finding a solution to the problem. On a trip through Zambia, Damon accompanied a young girl on her hour-long walk to get water for her family. The two talked through a translator about her hopes for the future -- a future only possible because she lived close enough to fresh water. Damon decided right then to do whatever he could to help the 780 million people who lack access to clean water. Damon doesn’t believe in fancy $2,000-a-plate charity galas, not when it costs approximately $25 to provide clean water for one person for life, instead he raises money by awareness trips and through his website at water.org.
