6 Great Date Night Ideas
We've had some very romantic dates. Once, I kidnapped him from a special function and we took a picnic up to this beautiful park overlooking the lake. I had clothes, picnic, candles, etc. in the car. We sat and watched the stars and had a wonderful date. Mostly, we go out to eat and then either shopping for new CDs or used books, or sometimes we go out to hear concerts (we love music) or the theater. Once we went parking
Sometimes it's to a nice restaurant where macaroni and cheese is not on the menu and they don't hand out crayons when you walk in. Other times it's for things as prosaic as picking up an herbicide to get rid of poison ivy or the big question of choosing the proper grass seed for the bald patch in the back yard. Sometimes it a "big date" like dinner and tickets to a live theater performance; other times it's sharing a 99-cent Coke and parking by the airport to watch planes landing while listening to the car stereo.
For us, the spark is kept alive by having "mystery dates." My husband will plan a date for us and not tell me anything about it other than what time to be ready. It can be anything from dinner at a nice restaurant to a show at the theatre or a picnic supper at the park. He always takes time to prepare something special, and I find that as I am getting dressed for the night, the anticipation and curiosity get the better of me and I feel like we are in high school again.
