It was pretty great night at the Grammys as, what is usually a boring, drawn-out show, turned out to be an energetic three and a half hours of some pretty awesome performances.
First off, the Al Green/Justin Timberlake perfomance of Let's Stay Together rocked! Al Green's still got it after all these years, and Justin was at his cutest. Then there was the Stevie Wonder/Jonas Brothers collaboration that, I thought, was pretty good. My husband, on the other hand had, what turned out to be, the best quote of the night.
While Stevie and the boys were playing "Superstitious," my love turned to me and said "This is awesome -- except for him. Him. And him (pointing to Nick, Joe & Kevin)."
Come on -- that's funny.
Other highlights included Carrie Underwood's legs -- which I would pay millions to have, the very pregnant belly of rapper M.I.A. (who's due date was yesterday) dancing around with Jay-Z, T.I. and Lil Wayne, and Dave Grohl rocking out with Paul McCartney. My girl Adele took home the Grammy for Best New Artist, while Jennifer Hudson made a brave return to the stage.
But the stand out star of the night was absolutely Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles who just mesmerized with her performance of "Stay." What a set of pipes on that lady!
