chime in nowAn apple a day really can keep the doctor away -- and so can pears, bananas, cauliflower and mushrooms. According to a new study published in the medical journal Stroke, consuming fruits and vegetables with white flesh can lower your risk of stroke by 52 percent. The study followed participants over a 10-year period, and found that for every 25 grams of white-fleshed produce consumed, subjects lowered their stroke risk by 9 percent.
