chime in nowAccording to the team at Apartment Therapy’s sister site, The Kitchn, “the #1 enemy of a neat, organized kitchen is too much stuff.” First, it’s important to figure out how to choose what appliances you really use.
If you were born to bake, a standing mixer makes sense, but if you can’t remember the last time you made a batch of cookies, consider a space-saving hand-held mixer instead. Don’t own any good knives and thinking about splurging on a pricey set? If money and space are an issue, rest assured that an 8-inch chef’s knife, a serrated knife for bread and a small paring knife are all you really need.
If you're looking to pare down, The Kitchn crew recommends giving away any small electric appliances, cookware, bakeware and utensils you don't use. If that feels too extreme, gather the appliances you haven’t used in a year and store them elsewhere, like an attic or basement, so they’re not taking up prime real estate in your kitchen.
