The 411 on Demi, Selena, Miranda and More TV-to-CD Kid Stars

These days, it seems like singing TV stars go from screen to CD every half-hour. But, the truth is that when you limit the musical playing field to Disney and Nickelodeon TV stars 18 and under (no Aly & AJ or Ashley Tisdale) and exclude well-known superstars (no Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers), and famous fathers (no Willow Smith), that leaves just a handful of celebri-kids trying to makes names for themselves in the music world.

If you get to know each of them better (and by that I mean telling one from another), you may not only wow your kids, but find something musically tolerable for everyone. In that hope, here's a quick primer.

Miranda Cosgrove

Need to Know

She achieved stardom as Megan Parker in Drake & Josh, but shot to superstardom as Carly Shay on Nickelodeon's iCarly, which has been kid-catnip since 2007. (If you've never heard of iCarly, you just haven't been paying attention).

After performing songs on the iCarly soundtrack, Cosgrove came out from released her debut album, Sparks Fly, on April 27, 2010. She describes her style as "pop rock fun."

She performed her third official release, "Freak the Freak Out," at the 2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Nov. 1, 2010, Lovato's publicist said she would enter a treatment center to "seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time."
