Your kids don't always respond well to the word "no" -- they protest, they whine, they tear up, and when all else fails, they throw massive no-holds-barred tantrums. Hold your ground, mama! And know that all "nos" are not created equal. Here are five ways to break the news and make it stick.
Think Before You Say “No”
Once you say it, you can’t turn back, so make sure you mean it. Otherwise, once the begging, crying or temper tantrum-ing starts, you’ll second guess yourself and give in. Which is worse than saying yes in the first place, incidentally. If you change your mind, you’re teaching them that begging and crying is a good strategy to get you to change your mind.
