There's no bit of gossip as happy as a baby! This year, some of the most talked-about celebrity stories were about new families -- be they TV royalty (North West) or actual royalty (George Alexander Louis). Here, the 8 buzziest babies of 2013!
8. Bear Winslet (Dec. 7)
Kate Winslet quietly married Ned Rocknroll in December 2012, and one year later, she had a son. Winslet now has three children, each by a different father -- which caused a minor scandal. She quickly went on the defense to explain that her children have happy, stable lives with their mother.
7. Maceo Robert Martinez (Oct. 5)
Amid a difficult custody battle over her older daughter Nahla, 46-year-old (!) actress Halle Berry gave birth to a boy with husband Olivier Martinez.
6. Marnie Rose Cooper (Jan. 8)
Lily Allen broke our hearts when she revealed her two previous miscarriages. Happily, she gave birth to a baby girl this year with husband Sam Cooper.
5. Lincoln Bell Shepard (March 28)
Kristen Bell was one of our imaginary BFFs this year, thanks to the upcoming Veronica Mars movie, Showtime's House of Lies and her musical turn in Frozen. We were all happy to welcome her daughter with Dax Shepard, whom she plans to marry when gay marriage is legalized.
4. Axl Jack Duhamel (Aug. 29)
It's about time! Fergie had been on pregnancy watch for years, so there was a massive media freak-out when she and husband Josh Duhamel announced they were expecting their first child.
3. Ace Knute Johnson (June 30)
Jessica Simpson announced she was pregnant with her second child when her first, Maxwell Drew, was only 7 months old! Her two successive pregnancies resulted in a lot of jokes, but in the end, she and fiance Eric Johnson had a beautiful son.
2. North West (June 15)
No baby invited more name speculation than Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's daughter. Would it be a "K" name in the Kardashian tradition? Would Kanye insist on Yeezus? In the end, the one they chose could not have been more perfect -- and they've done a surprisingly good job keeping the kid out of the ever-present spotlight.
1. George Alexander Louis (July 22)
Kate Middleton had a tough pregnancy, and was unable to keep it a secret for long. That's okay, because the world rejoiced at the birth of the little prince, third heir to the throne after his father Prince William.
