chime in nowIf you’re one of the 50 million Americans prone to acne, the best way to prevent it is getting on an acne-fighting regimen, says Susan Taylor, M.D., dermatologist and creator of Rx for Brown Skin. For pimples that appear here and there use a cool compress to help reduce inflammation. (A compress using cold skim milk is even better because of its anti-inflammatory properties). Taylor advises to then treat the pimple with an over-the-counter acne medication containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. If you prefer a natural fix, use a product containing tea tree oil.
