Welcome to your third month of pregnancy -- the last one of your first trimester! Can you believe it? At this point your baby may only be the size of the tip of your thumb, but your uterus has grown to about the size of a grapefruit. Your body will continue to pump out increased levels of hormones this month, and as they change, don’t be surprised if your moods swing, as well. It’s common to feel more emotional than usual at this stage -- even if you’re normally Miss Even Keel. Make an effort to do something nice for yourself, or even just call a friend to unload if you have a down day. Hey, we all have them!
Active little guy you’ve got there! Although you can’t feel his movements yet, your baby has begun wiggling around like crazy -- testing out his newly-functioning muscles. By this week, all of the major ones have formed and are growing, as well as his major organs and nerves. The eyelids are beginning to develop this week, the fingers and toes will continue to take shape and the elbows become more distinct. Hair follicles are also forming (future peach fuzz alert!).
Hope you don’t mind us asking, but how’s your sex life these days? For some women, the extra hormones they’ve got coursing through their veins right now completely fires up their libido. But the opposite can happen, too -- and for equally understandable reasons: It’s hard to get in the mood when you’re trying your best not to throw up, feel bloated, tired and have breasts so sore that there’s no way you’re letting your guy near them. Know that however you’re feeling about sex right now, it’s totally normal. But do have a chat with your guy about it. He’s likely wrangling with the issue, too. He may be worried that having sex might somehow hurt the baby. (Unless you have a high-risk pregnancy, it’s a complete myth, but it's one many men still really do freak out about.) For most couples, of course, sex is not only fine -- it’s a great way for the two of you to feel connected throughout this crazy journey.
"What works for you and what will happen to you is different from what happens to anyone else. Don't feel guilty if you can't breastfeed. Don't feel guilty because you can't afford the fancy cloth diapers. Don't stress out over the cup of coffee you enjoyed every so often while you were pregnant (even though your neighbor swore she never touched a single drop!). Everyone is different and as long as everyone is happy and healthy, that's all that matters." —misslyssa85

My belly is definitely bigger...but it's bloating! I can't wait until it's actually baby belly. With my first, I showed around 15 weeks and my second around 12. Wonder if this one will be even sooner… -- rbah_04
