"I'm a big rule follower, so if the rule was 'no toy guns at school' and there was a written consequence for breaking that rule in place, my opinion is that the school had to follow through. I have real problems with arbitrary rules that are not written out for the parents and have no clear consequences."
Dr. Michele Borba says, "When they're stressed, kids often take quick, fast breaths from their chests instead of their stomachs. As an alternative, teach young children to pretend to ‘blow up a balloon’ in their tummy. Then have them exhale as you slowly count to three. As they exhale, have them use an exaggerated ‘ahhh’ sound like they use at the doctor's office. Place your child's hands on his stomach so he can feel his breaths. Say, ‘Taking a slow, deep breath can reduce your stress and let your worries out.'"

"Okay, this is a bit unnerving. When did the government begin keeping DNA samples? Recently? Five years ago? And who else are they sampling besides children? ... You think there won't come a time when you, your son or daughter, your husband, your siblings will be denied a job for medical reasons. It's coming faster than you think and monitoring of DNA is just one way that will begin."
