    3 medium acorn squash 2 tablespoons margarine
    1 cup boiling water

      Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

      Cut each squash in half and scoop out seeds and fibers.

      Slice a small piece off the bottom of each half so that they will not roll over.

      Place squash halves, cut side down, in a shallow casserole.

      Pour boiling water into the casserole and cover it tightly with aluminum foil.

      Bake for 45 minutes or until squash is soft when pierced with a fork.

      Turn squash cut side up and fill each half with 1 teaspoon margarine.

      Bake for 5 minutes more.

      Grind pepper over squash and serve.


    Add freshly ground pepper for taste.
