We're guessing the creators of American Idol never dreamed one of the show's contestants would go on to win an Oscar. (Grammys, sure -- but an Oscar?) But Jennifer Hudson -- who finished seventh on the third season of Idol -- surprised everyone when her standout role in the movie-musical Dreamgirls landed her that coveted golden statue. Hudson has since released two studio albums, one of which earned her a Grammy. But she's just as focused on her acting career. She appeared in 2008's Sex and the City and recently played Winnie Mandela in the biopic Winnie (pictured).
