Adam Levine loves to take his shirt off. Like, we're talking L-O-V-E type of love here. The man is seen shirtless about as much as he's not (only a slight exaggeration) and frequently flaunts his toned physique in his music videos, his magazine appearances, and even on TV.
Now that the star has been honored with being People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2013 -- here is a compilation of topless photos of Levine for your viewing pleasure. You really don't have to thank us.

Levine and then-girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna starred as an adorable couple in the music video for "Never Gonna Leave This Bed." It makes sense that Levine would want to be shirtless for so much of the song -- the single is one of the sexiest off of the Maroon 5 album Hands All Over. "Knockin' so loud/Can you hear me yet/Try to stay awake but you can't forget," Levine croons in the song. "Wake you up/In the middle of the night to say/I will never walk away again/I'm never gonna leave this bed, oh." Levine's half-nakedness definitely plays into his whole vibe.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Levine is featured in 7 Hollywood's special "Icons" edition in his most iconic look: shirtless. Around the same time that the 7 Hollywood issue came out, Levine also posed (with his shirt on, unfortunately) for Men's Health. He opened up about his fitness secrets, saying he credits his centered being -- and toned body -- to yoga. "I have a hard time sitting still. I can be all over the map. Yoga has given me the ability to be more focused and make better decisions that come from a clear place," he says. "It's made me more successful. I love it and I don’t know what I’d do without it."

Of all of Levine's topless pics, the ones he took for Cosmopolitan UK in 2011 are his most infamous. He shot them to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, and at the very least, they got people's attention. Levine stands completely nude with nothing but the hands of Vyalitsyna covering his privates. "I spend most of my life naked," Levine explained to the magazine. "In fact, I often have to be told by the people around me that it's inappropriate to be as naked as I am. But I live in California, where it's always warm, so why not?"

What Levine may actually mean when he sings he has the "moves like [Mick] Jagger" is that he knows how to rock the shirtless look. In his prime, the Rolling Stones singer rivaled Levine for number of times being seen shirtless. Shows, music videos, magazine spreads, you name it -- Jagger was topless. In fact, he remains shirtless today, something we're not quite sure if we're especially happy about. At least he's still got his confidence at age 69 -- and that's what the song "Moves Like Jagger" is really all about.

Speaking of the song, Levine looks pretty dashing in the actual music video for "Moves Like Jagger." He shares screen time with old clips of Jagger, but makes sure he dominates his scenes by -- you guessed it -- being shirtless. Like the above image shows, all that can be seen of Levine's body is his nude chest -- at least, until he puts on a "Who The F--k Is Mick Jagger" T-shirt. With those moves, Levine might as well include a joke at the Rolling Stones star's expense in his music video homage to him.
Saturday Night Live

When Levine finally got a gig as host and performer on Saturday Night Live in January, it was a welcome surprise to see him spoof both his gig at The Voice and his frequent toplessness during his opening monologue. In a surprise skit, he had three coaches -- Cameron Diaz, Andy Samberg and Jerry Seinfeld -- pretend to be The Voice-like coaches mentoring him on how to be a better actor. Their best advice for him? Go shirtless. We approve, though it remains to be seen if it will actually help him get any acting jobs beyond his recent one on American Horror Story: Asylum and the movie Can a Song Save Your Life.

Levine and Vyalitsyna continued their naked, public love affair on the cover of Vogue Russia in November 2011. This time she caught his nudist streak, and posed wearing nothing but her scarf as they stand together on the magazine's cover. He remains shirtless in their photo shoot (of course!) but she is a bit more conservative -- with the exception of one image and its appropriately placed guitars. Lady loves her musicians, we guess, as Anne V has gone on to find love with British musician Calvin Harris.

Somehow, Levine as a shirtless tree on the cover of YRB magazine in April 2011 still manages to be sort of sexy. Here he goes full bark to raise awareness for environmental organizations, which explains why he feels a kinship with the tree he styled himself after. “I think I have a very interesting and weird view [on environmental issues] because the earth is going to be fine; it’s human beings that need to be worried,” he tells the magazine. “It would be nice if we were more considerate so we can stick around longer to be on this beautiful earth.”

Levine wore a costume with a shirt to Maroon 5's 2007 Halloween party – honest! -- though he was often photographed that night with his jacket off. (Funny to see how fewer tattoos he had back then, right?) No wonder he told The Insider's Brooke Anderson in May 2012 that he feels "very" comfortable in his own skin. "Sometimes too comfortable," he admitted. "I can stand to be a little less comfortable. But I guess I have the right job for that." Just how cozy does he get? Sometimes Levine walks around his house naked in front of his friends without even realizing. "It's not conscious -- I'll be kind of naked almost and it's not very kosher," he said.
