Addicted to Internet Porn

When he'd rather surf porn sites than have sex with you

  • Talk about it. Tell him you know his "secret," but do it in a light-hearted way. Tell him you hit the "history" button on your browser and discovered that he's been watching porn, that you walked in on him, etc. Don't be judgemental. Instead, joke that his computer gets to see him more often than you do and that you bet he can't go without watching porn for a week (or two). He'll protest that going without porn would be easy—no one likes to admit addiction—then all you have to do is hold him to it. Letting him know you're aware of the situation without giving him a hard time about it is the first step to solving the problem.

  • When you do have sex, have racier sex (within your comfort zone, of course). One of the reasons he likes porn is that it's naughty. Up the ante a little. Talk dirty. Masturbate in front of him. He wants porn? Give him your own version of porn.

  • Stop asking for sex, and start initiating it. Instead of saying, "Can we have sex?" appeal to his visual side—the side that's usually satisfied by porn—by showing him your desire. Walk around naked. Take your clothes off like you're stripping. "Accidentally" leave your heels on as you walk around in your underwear. Excite his eyes.
