You better have the tissues on hand when you sit down and watch the new reality series, Adoption Diaries. The show documents the journey of birth mothers and potential adoptive parents as they navigate the emotional waters of the open adoption process. The entire show is a roller coaster of emotions. We meet a woman who has suffered multiple miscarriages in her desire to have a family and a young woman knowing that the time is not right for her to be a mom. Guiding the journey is Dr. Jennifer Bliss, one of the codirectors of the Independent Adoption Center. She acts as an advocate for each side, trying to create the outcome that will work best for all parties involved. The amazing thing to realize is that even though plans are made in advance, nothing is guaranteed until after the birth and that leaves all the parties -- including the audience -- anxious to see the outcome.
