Petside is hosting its fifth annual Pet 'Net: Adoption Event, a week-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the benefits of pet adoption by providing information on adopting to potential pet parents.
For five days Petside will be rallying the online community behind this worthy cause, bringing together popular pet-focused bloggers that will be highlighting the issue for the entire week.
To celebrate the occasion, Petside will have a dedicated hub page that will serve as a one-stop destination for adoption-oriented content from pet enthusiasts around the web, ranging from how to prepare your family for a pet to how to get involved in fostering animals.
Petside is also celebrating the cause of helping animals by giving away $5,000 to one deserving local shelter in the United States. People can help their local shelter by visiting the hub page and voting for their area rescue by entering their zip code.
Raising awareness about adoption is becoming increasingly important, and a cause every animal lover can rally behind. Each year the Humane Society of the United States estimates that between 6-8 million animals are euthanized because they can't find homes, a number that adoption education and increased adoption rates can help decrease.
Visit the Pet Net 2012 hub page to learn how you can take part in this week-long event, vote for your area shelter to win a $5,000 donation, learn about adoption or read heart-warming stories pet adoption stories.
