"Educating myself and my husband about his illness has been critical. Therapy for both of us has been really important as well. Having been able to talk with his psychiatrist and therapist about how to handle any [manic] symptoms helped me feel much more confident in our relationship and my anxiety has totally diminished. I actually feel like I finally have some control knowing there are options if/when he gets sick again. My husband and I talk almost daily about his progress, how he's feeling, etc. In addition, I have wonderful friends and family for support, and my own therapist. Those things combined help keep us all going strong." —ivil_socalmommy
