“A lot of the work we did ourselves, including painting stripes on the beat-up, mismatched wood floor with porch paint from Farrow & Ball. We masked irregular architectural elements with voluminous window treatments. We painted the ceiling and walls the same shade of pale blue to trick the eye into not noticing the ‘ripples’ in the plaster work,” says Jason Oliver Nixon of Madcap Cottage.
