Alec Baldwin Claims '30 Rock' Is Ending Next Season

The actor broke the news on Twitter that his hit NBC show will come to a close after its seventh season

Alec Baldwin caused a panic among 30 Rock fans when he took to Twitter last week to say he was "leaving NBC," and now he's at it again, saying the show is set to end next season.

The Emmy-winning actor, 54, announced his engagement to his 28-year-old girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, on April 2 -- and a week later he complained on Twitter that the Today show was stalking him.

"I haven't appeared on the Today show in many years. But did they have to camp outside my apt?" he posted on Twitter on April 11. He then added, "I think I'm leaving NBC just in time."

Baldwin also alluded to the fact that it was probably time for Tina Fey to move on to feature films and other projects.

"But aren't you infinitely curious about the kinds of things Tina will do when the show is over? I know I am," he wrote last week. "I think Tina will write, produce, act in and direct some great films."

The actor explained his comments to the Associated Press on Monday, saying he has no ill will towards the network -- but that 30 Rock will end after its seventh season in spring 2013. It's currently airing its sixth season.

No one from NBC or 30 Rock has confirmed the show's end date.
