Genevieve Sabourin, the Canadian actress accused of stalking Alec Baldwin, has been carrying on a passionate affair with the 54-year-old actor... in her own mind. In a disturbing series of emails to the 30 Rock actor (obtained by the NY Daily News) Sabourin mourns Baldwin's engagement to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas and threatens to make herself a part of his life, no matter what it takes.
"I just died," Sabourin wrote on April 2 of Baldwin's engagement news, which she called "painful for me and so destructive."
"I'll never be this candid little smiling/giving/nice ... naive and caring blonde girl next door," she continued in the email. "She died on the stepping stone in front of your house."
Dramatic much? A couple weeks earlier, Sabourin was threatening to infiltrate Baldwin's life by joining Thomas' yoga studio and making Hilaria her new BFF.
"I will change my name and take yoga classes you know where and I'll become HLT best friend, faster then you know," she wrote in a March 20 email. "I'll use her ego."
In a separate email on the same day (how many of these things did she send?), the 40-year-old Montreal resident -- who has allegedly showed up at two of Baldwin's homes and an event he was hosting -- warned Baldwin that she was flying out to see him.
"I'm coming to NY!!!! ... I'm not afraid of loosing all because I already did," Sabourin wrote.
How did this seemingly crazy lady even get his email address, you might ask? The blond actress actually knows Baldwin -- kind of. The two of them met on the set of The Adventures of Pluto Nash in 2001, while she was working as a publicist. They reunited briefly for a dinner in 2010, after a mutual friend asked Baldwin to give her acting advice. The actor has said that there was nothing romantic between them, and recalls the dinner as "strictly professional."
Obviously, Thomas sees their relationship as more than professional. In other emails, she expressed fantasies about marrying Baldwin, having his children, and "creating genevieve baldwin." (Creepy!) The correspondence has now been entered as evidence in her criminal case.
Sabourin, who is being accused of stalking and harassment, has shown other signs of being somewhat out of touch with reality. When she was arrested in April, she actually smiled for the cameras while being handcuffed. She later compared herself to Princess Diana, saying she was "on the run" from the press after being slapped with a restraining order. At the same time, she opened a Twitter account where she posted regular paparazzi updates and wrote "Alec Baldwin, no comment about the case" as her profile description.
This Wednesday, she tweeted a complaint that Baldwin's restraining order prevented her from going to the Cannes Film Festival, where -- shocker! -- Baldwin and Thomas were photographed walking the Moonrise Kingdom red carpet Wednesday. (Has her lawyer not mentioned the phrase, "Don't discuss the case?")
Speaking of Sabourin's lawyer, he has downplayed the accusations against his client. "She had no intent to harass, annoy or alarm Mr. Baldwin," he told the Daily News.
"With my lawyers, we are going to solve this misunderstanding," Sabourin told the press outside of her court hearing earlier this week.
The restraining order against Sabourin has been extended until July 26, when she is scheduled to return to court.
