Star Designer Alexander McQueen Found Dead

The British couturier -- who has dressed Sarah Jessica Parker and other A-listers -- may have committed suicide in his London home

Alexander McQueen, the British designer famed for shocking and controversial fashion and for dressing such A-list sartorial stars as Sarah Jessica Parker, was found dead at his London home this morning. He was only 40.

The Guardian reports that Lee (that’s McQueen’s birth name; he used his middle name for his fashion line) may have committed suicide -- his mother, Joyce, just died last week. His recent posts on Twitter reveal he had been battling with the grief of her death.

An ambulance was called to his home at 10:20 a.m. and it is believed that McQueen hanged himself, according to the New York Post.

McQueen’s death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was set to unveil a new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9. He also designed a very affordable collection for Target called, McQ Alexander McQueen for Target, which debuted last year.
