Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky is going to have to wait a little while longer to marry Roberto Martinez, as the reality star reveals the couple has postponed their wedding due to her recent injury.
Back in July, Ali underwent surgery to repair the fractured femur that she suffered during a kickboxing class. Still recovering, the TV news correspondent decided to put her nuptials on hold.
"We had a date set, and that date has now passed," Ali, 26, told People.com. "The decision to postpone [the wedding] was very difficult. I definitely shed some tears. But I want to walk down the aisle," she said, "I don't want to limp down the aisle."
Sounds pretty reasonable.
Instead of limping down the aisle on their originally planned wedding day, Ali and Roberto found a way to make the date memorable anyway.
"It was one of the best days we've had, just me and him," Fedotowsky smiled. She says that she and her man are more than confident in their love and don't feel the need to rush a trip to the altar.
"In my mind, Roberto is my husband," she said. "We live together; we do everything together; we plan for the future together; we fight just like a good old married couple. The only thing that's not saying "I'm married" is another ring on my finger and a piece of paper."
