    Ingredients

    2 1/2 pounds chuck steak 1 teaspoon dried whole oregano
    1 large yellow onion, peeled and thinly sliced 1 teaspoon cumin
    2 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar 12 corn tortillas or tostada shells
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt Thinly sliced red onion, shredded cheese, salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce or other toppings

      Put the chuck steak in a slow cooker and sprinkle with the sliced onion, sugar, salt, oregano, and cumin. Top with 6 cups of water and cook on high for 8 hours.

      To serve, pull the beef with two forks until it’s in shreds. Heap the meat on a tortilla or tostada shell, and add toppings as desired.
