“I learned about wonderful interiors from my mother -- she was an amazing woman with a great eye. She taught me to always strive to be the best in all that I do. She said, 'No matter how perfect a room may look, it has to be comfortable -- never forget comfort, and always have a room express something personal.' When guests came to her home, her number one concern was their comfort and enjoyment of their surroundings.
There were times in my life that I wondered if I could ever meet up to her standards, and would sometimes rebel against her perfectionism. However, I would not be the designer I am today had it not been for my mother and her belief in me. I give thanks every day for the way she brought me up -- I am a lucky girl.”
