Something is up with Amanda Bynes, and we're concerned. The actress, who turns 27 on Wednesday, has drawn negative attention to herself through a series of strange tweets and actions in recent weeks. Now she claims there is an imposter walking around New York City pretending to be her.
Photos were taken of a redhead who looks a whole lot like Bynes strolling around NYC -- she even has the former actress' signature cheek piercings. Bynes took to Twitter to clarify: "My hair is blonde I've never been a redhead! Somebody keeps posing as me! Check my photos on twitter for up to date pictures!" she tweeted. "Fake or real microdermals same glasses! I don't own those clothes and I'm blonde! Haha!" The tweets have since been deleted.
This is just the latest bizarre behavior from the former Nickelodeon star. To keep track of the crazy, here's a look back at the strange trajectory she has taken since announcing her retirement from acting in June 2010:
June 2010: Bynes retires, tweeting, "I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it."
July 2010: Bynes changes her mind, announces she's "unretired."
March 2012: Bynes is stopped by police for talking on her cell phone while driving.
April 2012: Only a month later, Bynes is arrested for driving under the influence. She is officially charged in June.
June 2012: Bynes earns instant backlash for tweeting at President Barack Obama to fire the cop who arrested her.
September 2012: While driving with her suspended license, Bynes is photographed smoking marijuana.
September 2012: Bynes again retires from acting to focus instead on becoming a fashion designer. She moves from LA to New York.
November 2012: Bynes allegedly walks around a tanning salon naked, though she says the story is untrue and threatens to sue over it.
December 2012: It is announced that Bynes has reached a settlement for her two hit-and-run cases.
March 2013: Bynes claims on Twitter that she came up with the phrases "ily" and "lololol."
March 2013: Bynes debuts her new cheek piercings.
March 2013: In yet another instance of Bynes sharing too much on Twitter, she announces that she wants singer Drake to "murder" her lady parts.
March 2013: Bynes claims she is suing Us Weekly and Perez Hilton for "continuing to act like I'm doing something wrong by tweeting and walking to photoshoots."
April 2013: Bynes fails to appear in court for (another) hearing on driving with a suspended license. She reportedly is reaching a plea deal.
