Amanda Seyfried will soon be bringing her portrayal of Linda Lovelace to the silver screen -- and in the meantime, she's steaming up computer screens! The first poster for Lovelace, a biopic of the 1970s adult film star, hit the Internet Wednesday. And while it's not pornographic at all, it's definitely sexy.
In the image, Seyfried, 26, wears a lacy red bra and a white crocheted garment draped around her shoulders. She's giving the camera her best come-hither look, but it's hard to look away from her dark brown hair, which has totally transformed the natural blonde's appearance. The tagline written in the corner of the poster reads "X Marks the Legend" (referring to the X rating that used to be given to pornographic films like Lovelace's big hit, Deep Throat).
Lovelace is one of two current Hollywood films about Linda Lovelace, who became an anti-pornography activist in the 1980s and died in a car accident in 2002. The other, Inferno, was originally supposed to star Lindsay Lohan, who did some promotional photos dressed as Linda before she was fired in 2010. The lead role was passed on to Malin Akerman. But while Lovelace has finished shooting, Inferno hasn't even begun -- and its star fears that the movie will never get made.
"It's been one of those doomed films that I absolutely love and totally believe in," Akerman told The Hollywood Reporter last week. "I would hope and love for it to go, but now this other movie is coming on that Amanda Seyfried did, and I kind of feel like, 'S***, we should have been on that, we should have done it.'"
If production stalls long enough, maybe Lindsay Lohan could play the part after all! In the meantime, Seyfried is up for the challenge.
''The film will be both brazen and risque. It is very bold,'' she told Entertainment Weekly in January. ''In order to fully share her story, I've never been more ready and willing to explore these dark and emotional circumstances.''
However, she's brushed aside reports that the she'll bare all in the edgy drama.
"I'm pretty sure I would never do a full-frontal in a movie," Seyfried told Glamour in February. "For personal reasons, I wouldn't really want to show that."
Lovelace, which also features James Franco as Hugh Hefner and Sarah Jessica Parker as Gloria Steinem, hits theaters sometime this year.
