Amazing Race: Oh, the Drama!

Let it be said: This leg of the race was dramatic. And chaotic. Tempers flared, tears were shed; it was rather entertaining. At the start of the episode, we found out that Drew had to be treated for altitude sickness at the first Pit Stop, but he pulled through and started the next leg at his team's designated time. The teams were sent to Santiago, Chile, where they would have to go to the corporate headquarters of a company called Codelco. Leaving the first Pit Stop, a few teams got stuck in the mud... okay, whatever, Team Kentucky pulled out Mirna & Shmirna (all the other teams' name for the cousins), but get this: When Drew and Kevin got stuck, Kevin put the towing cables around himself and "towed" them out while Drew floored it. Did anybody else see that part? Is that something people can actually do? Is there some law of physics I don't understand? (I'll answer that one for you: Yes, there are many.)
