Did you know that the age limit to audition on American Idol is 28 years old? I didn't know that considering the only people I ever see on the show are teenager girls dressed like hookers. Back in 2004 the producers of the show increased the age limit from 26 to 28 which allowed last season's winner Taylor Hicks to apply. Now the producers are talking about upping the age limit to 30 next season. American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe recently said that allowing older people on the show has "brought us some more maturity and a little more professionalism in certain areas. We're happy about that. I wouldn't mind extending it even further next year, to be honest." Why can't they just extend it to age 31, so I can try out too!
