Jennifer Lopez was delightful, fun, helpful and when it was all said and done -- had a positive impact on tonight's Latino-themed performances. She really figured out how to help each individual maximize their potential.
J.Lo (I don't care, I'm calling her that) says, like the rest of America, she watches AI on the edge of her seat. Therefore, she knows the dynamics of all eight contestants.
When Haley was rehearsing, she suggested she needed more than a piano. She needed a beat. So J.Lo says, "why don't we get Blake?" He's the human beatboxer. It was great to see that she really has learned who does what in this show.
It's season 6 already. You know how it works... the worst has the best chance for improvement which always makes for good TV.
Sanjaya Malakar will have people talking again. This time, they'll be buzzing about his smooth vocals. Not too bad. And he was singing in Spanish, "Besame Mucho." Lopez was "really impressed" and even said she thought Simon would be too. So what did the snarky judge do? He gave one of his famous backhanded compliments, "I couldn't understand a word of it. You sang like a 14 year-old. And I'm going to hate myself for saying this -- it wasn't horrible." And if that wasn't a big enough Simon shocker for you, how about this...
