American Idol Results: Farewell Ramiele

The little softy just wasn't competitive enough.  She sure had the voice to be the next American Idol  She was cute and fun too.  Ramiele Malubay was cut from the competition this week - at number 8.  She needed better guidance.  She needed to start picking songs more suited for her.  Ramiele was part of my top three girls from the start.  Right now, I see her as more of a recording artist than a performer, but she'll get there.

This was a really strange night -- Dolly getting her Jesus on... Simon's multiple apologies.  And that awful group that's supposed to be "The Next Great American Band".  What in the...  Oh yeah, and the votefortheworst callers are making themselves heard in this competition.  Aren't they?

Dolly Parton said all the contestants had a personal story for her.  She enjoyed being on the show.

Dolly was praising Jesus on stage!  I fast forwarded her performance of "Jesus and Gravity" a bit.  (Gravity, really Dolly, gravity?  I mean, look at that body!)  The song seemed to go on and on.. much like her commenting did afterward.  It took so long that Simon was caught on camera giving an eye roll.  She's a sweetheart though.

I'm asking you.. why give that so much time.. and for God's sake why give The Clark Brothers all the time they had too (I fast forwarded them too.) and not have time for Ramiele to finish singing us out.  ROLL THE CREDITS!  How rude.  If you're going to make the crying girl sing -- at least give her time to get it all in.  The more she sang, the more she composed herself and the better she sounded.

Tonight's bottom three consisted of Brooke White, Kristy Lee Cook and Ramiele.  Brooke was crying -- overwhelmed by the moment, "we throw everything we have into this (AI)... Idol Gives Back shows us another meaning of difficult and then Dolly comes out here and talks about Jesus and gravity."

The three girls mentioned that they are roommates.  It was hard not noticing that Brooke and Kristy Lee both looked like they were going to squash little Ramiele.  (Picture Ramiele in the middle because that's how they stood most of the time they were up there.)

Ryan asked David Cook about his hospital stint.  Very calmly, Cook said that he has high blood pressure and it spiked.  No worries.

The Ford commercial took us to the basketball court.  Do these commercials seem shorter than previous year's spots?  Must be trying to get in all those sponsor gimmicks throughout the show.

A few things we learned from the American Idol question session:

Syesha Mercado was asked what she missed about home.  Her family and friends.

David Cook what other talent would you want to have and why?  He wants to be organized because he's a slob.  Jason Castro, his roomie, agrees.  (Btw, his other roommate is Michael Johns.)

Who would Randy like to work with who he hasn't yet?  The next American Idol.

What would Michael Johns and/or David Cook like to sing on the tour?  They joked about "Islands in the Stream".  Cook says he wants Dolly's part.  lol.  No, they haven't thought that far into it right now.

Why does Simon feel he needs to apologize after he gives his critiques?  Simon says he will never do it again.  But later in the show he shoots off a slew of i'm sorrys to people.
