And then there were two. After weeks of competition, the remaining three contestants on American Idol were narrowed down to the final two hopefuls.
During Wednesday night's show, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, and Jessica Sanchez all gave it their best, but in the end only two of them could move on to the season's final round. All three are attractive, talented and have impressed the judges again and again.
After exhaustive recapping and performances by Lisa Marie Presley and Idol alum Adam Lambert, host Ryan Seacrest finally revealed who was singing at the finale.
The season 11 American Idol will be either Jessica or Phillip, which means 20-year-old Joshua is this year's second runner-up. Even prescient mentor Jimmy Iovine had predicted that he belonged in the finale, but America voted, and the talented Louisianan will have to hope he fares as well as other No. 3's who managed to land recording contracts.
"I want to win, but at this point we're all winners," Ledet, who reprised his signature "It's a Man's World" at the end of the show, told People on Wednesday. "I'm not gonna say I don't care, but I will be just as happy about me winning or two of my friends, Phillip or Jessica."
This is it, folks. Next week is the season finale, with Jessica and Phillip battling it out for the ultimate prize.
