Wednesday night's American Idol ended with a Jennifer Lopez meltdown, when fan favorite Chris Medina was sent home. But Thursday night, the diva put her game face on and, with the help of Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, narrowed the remaining Idol contestants down to the top 24.
The 12 guys and 12 girls chosen to move on didn't get their good news from the judges until they'd endured a bit of suspense-building teasing. "You're mean," contestant Laina Alaina joked after she finally got the confirmation she was one of the 12 females whose Idol dreams were still intact.
In the night's biggest twist, 15-year-old fan fave Jacee Badeux was sent packing after a tense three-way showdown for the final spot in the guys' competition. Brett Loewenstern nabbed the coveted spot, while Colton Dixon joined Badeux for the long trip home.
Meanwhile, Jessica Cunningham, who has auditioned for the show seven times, was rejected on the night of her 25th birthday. She jokingly flipped off the camera after saying her goodbye, telling the judges: "I love ya, but you ruined my birthday."
Below is the complete list of the top 24 who will be vying for your votes next week!
