Saleisha, Bianca, Chantal, Jenah—only four girls left and they are on their way to Beijing! The girls tour the city before they get down to business. They arrive at a garden where Miss. Jay and Twiggy (who are being carried in by Chinese men) take them through the history of fashion in China by relating a story about four beautiful Chinese girls.
The girls head to their new home in Beijing and find four boxes waiting for them. Inside are the dresses of the four beauties they saw earlier. The girls put on the dresses and meet Miss J and Twiggy again, who tell them that their challenge is to take their outfits and modernize them. The girls get 1500 yuan and one hour to shop at the mall to buy whatever they need to accomplish their task. The history lesson makes sense now!
Bianca is having trouble finding what she needs and instead of working harder, she decides to "strategize." She tells Jenah there's a lot of great stuff across the mall, when in fact, there is nothing there! "There are no friends in competition,"Bianca argues.
Seventeen Editor-in-Chief Ann Shoket is back to judge the girls on their outfits as they walk the runway. The winner of the challenge and a friend get their own Chinese couture dresses made especially for them. Try as Bianca might, her plan to bring Jenah down didn’t work. Jenah wins! Another bonus to the challenge win? Jenah also gets runway lessons from Miss J.
Back at home, the girls learn they are going to be photographed on the Great Wall of China! Bianca keeps complaining about how she deserves to be here just like the other girls. She says Chantal and Saleisha think they will be in the top two—and I agree since they have the most potential out of the four. Jenah starts crying about missing home and her boyfriend. She says she just wants to get this over with so she can go home. Is this foreshadowing or is it just ANTM playing with us?
The girls are psyched when they arrive at the Great Wall. For the photo shoot, the models are going to pose as barbarians trying to invade the Great Wall of China. And the photographer is…Tyra? What? How many jobs does this woman have?
Jenah is complaining about being depressed while getting her make up on. Chantal comes out with her hair looking like a big Twinky. Tyra loves her shoot and Jay is impressed as well. During Jenah’s shoot, Jenah says she wants to get to the other side of the wall to find herself. Bianca’s up and Jay whispers in her ear, “No stiff poses today.” Amen to that! But even this time around, it took her too long to loosen up. Tyra tells Saleisha she’s giving too much ballet at first, but then she comes alive and really gets into it. She’s the only girl who jumps and gets into character! Jay says it has been her best shoot yet.
After the individual shoots, the girls have to pose together. Their goal is to stand out and make the judges notice them over the other girls. Of course Bianca complains that Saleisha’s bun is in her face. At home, Bianca complains more about Chantal and Saleisha (umm..jealousy) and Jenah is still talking about how she’s losing herself. These two scream bottom two material!
During individual evaluations, the judges love Jenah’s outstretched leg and her face in her photo. One problem—Tyra says she couldn’t remember Jenah’s shoot after it was over. Jenah cries in front of panel saying she misses her family, but is in it to win it and is doing it for her younger sisters. Tyra says Bianca is stunning in her shot, but she’s extremely awkward. Not surprisingly, all the judges drool over Chantal’s and Saleisha’s photos. Both are great action shots of them in the air.
Chantal is chosen as the girl who stands out in the group photo. Saleisha is still in the running. And what a shocker, Jenah and Bianca are in the bottom two. Jenah slides by again, and it’s Bianca who gets sent home! Tyra tells Bianca that modeling doesn’t come as naturally to her and lets her go. It’s about time! She plays too dirty to be there.
