Serve this slow-cooked stew with fresh warm bread or rolls for a thoroughly warming (and heart-warming) dinner.
|3 cups cubed beef||1 cup tomato juice|
|1 onion, cut into cubes||1/2 cup flour|
|8 large potatoes, scrubbed and cubed||1/4 cup margarine|
|2 cups carrots, sliced||1/2 cup frozen peas|
|2 cups celery, sliced|
In a hot skillet with the margarine, brown beef and onion in flour.
Transfer browned beef and onion cubes to a slow-cooker.
Heat on low for 2 hours, then add vegetables and 1 cup tomato juice.
Heat for 1 or 2 more hours until ready to serve!
use salt to taste
