Leave it to Amy Atlas to give St. Patrick's Day a chic twist. Instead of the usual pots of gold, shamrocks and rainbows, the party planner and author opted for treats in unexpected shades of green. While a little bit of food coloring is always an option, Amy recommends first looking to naturally green ingredients like pistachios or lime juice. That way, you'll get a pop of festive color and plenty of flavor. Read on for three of her favorite St. Patrick's Day desserts, plus styling tips!

"Pour this bubbly, lime-infused drink into prosaic little Dixie cups, and in a few hours you have the most beautiful green frozen pops," Atlas says. "When serving, arrange in sets of three or four to mimic a shamrock."

Atlas says, "This milky sea glass green swirled candy practically melts in your mouth. It always looks best piled high – and somewhat randomly – on a footed serving dish."

"The deliciously subtle flavor of pistachios – not to mention the gorgeous pale green green hue of these cupcakes – is achieved by grinding pistachios into a flour."

"The pointy peaks of the buttercream mimic a leprechaun’s pointed hat. Use a pastry bag or resealable plastic bag fitted with a star tip to get this look. Pipe 8 stars on the top of each cupcake, pulling up the pastry bag as you pipe each one to elongate it vertically. Try to make all of the stars the same height."
