.) What was your big turning point -- either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose weight? My big turning point was sometime during the summer of 2006. I was so miserable with being fat that I knew I had to do something to make a change. I was wearing size 22-24 clothes and was busting out of them! I'd look in the mirror and see this fat woman that I couldn't believe was me. I didn't even recognize myself anymore! I hated my own reflection. My weight was out of control! I remembered seeing the NOW CASTING ad during one of the last The Biggest Loser episodes for season 3. I looked on the NBC website to see how to apply for the show. It was just by chance that I noticed there was going to be an open casting call in NYC the next weekend. Going to that open casting call was definitely the start of my quest to become healthy. Something inside me just knew that I was meant to be on the show.
.) What is one thing you wish you had known before going on The Biggest Loser? The one thing I wish I would have known before going on The Biggest Loser is that even though being on campus felt like forever, once you get home it seems like it was over so fast. I think I would have tried to enjoy myself more while I was there, rather than dwell on missing my family.
.) If you could have done one thing differently during the show what would it be? If I could have done one thing differently during the show it would have been NOT to express to the other contestants how much I missed my family. In the end I believe this hurt me. It gave Isabeau the excuse she was looking for to stab me in the back and vote me off.
.) What do you think your biggest weight-loss obstacles will be now that you're dieting on your own? My biggest weight loss obstacle now that I’m on my own will be finding the time to workout. I start back to work full-time in a few weeks. I will have to be very focused and organized to stay on track. I'm going to have to follow a strict schedule.
.) What advice can you give other people who are hoping to lose extra pounds? Advice I would give people who want to lose weight is: STICK WITH IT!! So many people give up because they have a few bad days. Each new day is an opportunity to make healthy choices. BE ACTIVE is the other thing I would advice people to do. You need to move to lose weight.
.) What is one thing that happened behind-the-scenes that no one would know from watching the show? One thing that happened behind the scenes that no would know from watching is the HURRY UP AND WAIT!, part of making a television show. Viewers don't realize that the production side of the show is ALWAYS there.(Cameras, Casting assistants, etc…) Someone is ALWAYS watching you!!!!
