The Get Organized Community Challenge® is officially over, so I thought I'd take a look at my progress. I read over the original agreement again and I stuck to it. I put all my preconceived notions aside and followed the instructions. I also did all of the writing assignments. I completed one assignment -- cleaning out the closet and master bathroom. The kitchen is well on its way to being organized but I still need to finish the pantry and the drawers in the island. I haven't touched the computer room yet, but during the Community Challenge I've done quite a few other things. I finished tiling the kitchen and have the master bedroom mostly painted.
In addition, I got most of the kitchen stuff unpacked and unpacked the wardrobe boxes in the master bedroom. I have been working on creating new habits. The first three habits were making the bed daily, putting the keys in their assigned place whenever I come in the house and clearing the coffee table every evening. Those three made a big difference. When the coffee table is clear, it makes me want to straighten the rest of the family room, I enjoy having a nice made bed waiting for me in the evening. It's also nice to always be able to find the keys when I need them. No more running up and down the stairs looking for them!
I think the Community Challenge was a huge success for me. I think I will be able to continue to make progress. The message board will continue, so I'll have the inspiration and I'll be able to talk about my progress (and lack of progress).
