It was the closest Top Chef finale ever. Everybody's dishes looked amazing, no one screwed up royally, and the judges had high praise and critical comments for each of the three finalists. But in the end, not even an overly dry cake could stand in the way of Michael Voltaggio winning the title of Top Chef.
I admit, I was a little surprised. I thought Bryan would win it all; he's shown more consistency and well-roundedness than his flashier, hotheaded brother. And while I've adored Kevin's cooking throughout the competition, he seemed to lack a little bit of the finesse the Voltaggio brothers possess. But honestly, I would have been ecstatic with any of these guys winning—they're all super-talented and proved themselves again and again.
