Complete with hair dye to fix her "really bad roots" and curlers that made her feel like she belonged in a trailer park, funny lady Angela Kinsey gave iVillage an exclusive sneak peek into how she got glammed up for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on May 1. As The Office star, who's also one of our iVillage celebrity bloggers, pointed out, "It's the White House! This is big. We're talking Barack to the O-Bama."
To help her prepare for meeting the commander-in-chief, the actress dialed up older sister Billie Jo Mullins before the high-wattage event. "Go to your happy place," big sis told the 38-year-old actress (who's a Gigi or Guardian Girlfriend for Clairol Nice 'n Easy), which for Kinsey means looking at a photo of her daughter Isabel, 2.
And a nervous Kinsey remembered a sage piece of advice from her mom: "Be politely bored," she said in a Texas drawl in homage to her mother. "Don't be rude, but don't act like they can make your day."
