After two infant deaths and two injuries from strangulation, Angelcare Monitors is recalling 600,000 of its Movement and Sound Baby Monitors. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the cord attached to the monitor’s sensor pad, which is placed under the mattress, can become a strangulation hazard if the child pulls the cord into the crib.
The recalled model numbers are AC1100, AC201, AC300, AC401 AC601 and 49255. The monitors were sold at Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, Meijer, Sears, Walmart, Amazon.com, Target.com, Overstock.com and many other small specialty baby stores.
If you own one of the recalled monitors, stop using it and contact the company for a repair kid. You can call Angelcare at (855) 355-2643, e-mail at Consumers@angelcare.ca or visit Angel Care Baby and click on the safety notice section of the website for more information.
