Angelina Jolie may not be warming up to the idea of marriage as quickly as Brad Pitt. Pitt, 48, has mentioned in several recent interviews that he'd like to tie the knot with his partner of over six years. But when confronted on the red carpet at the SAG Awards, Jolie, 36, didn't seem to share his enthusiasm -- and Pitt seemed downright apologetic about the whole thing.
"I think anything that's said (by us) tends to be blown out of proportion," said Jolie, when a People reporter mentioned marriage to the couple.
"Yeah, that was my fault," said Pitt sheepishly, referring to a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter in which he admitted that they might not be able to hold out until gay marriage is legalized (their stated reason for not tying the knot).
"We'd actually like to, and it seems to mean more and more to our kids," said the Moneyball actor. "We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment."
He also mentioned the kids' marriage wishes in an interview with CBS News. "We're getting a lot of pressure from the kids," said Pitt, who revealed that Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne were urging him to "get mommy a ring." His response? "Okay, I will, I will!"
Seems obvious that marriage is an ongoing topic of debate in the Jolie-Pitt household! Is Angelina annoyed because Pitt is pushing for a wedding -- or just because he's been talking so much about it? Given the media scrutiny around these two, we wouldn't be surprised if they get married in complete secrecy, then tell everyone about it six months later!
