Angelina Jolie had parental support to help her celebrate the premiere of her directorial debut in New York City Monday night. But it wasn't her sometimes estranged father Jon Voight at her side; it was partner Brad Pitt's parents, Bill and Jane Pitt.
Flanked by the father of her children on one side and his parents on the other, the foursome stepped out for the red-carpet premiere of Jolie's war drama In the Land of Blood and Honey.
Earlier in the day, the elder Pitts had accompanied Jolie, 36, to the home of media mogul Tina Brown, who hosted a breakfast at her Manhattan apartment in honor of Jolie's new release, a complicated romance set during the Bosnian War. Then Angie, Brad and his folks got all glammed up for the film's New York premiere.
But after Jolie's Monday night appearance on Nightline, we're not expecting the Pitts to be her in-laws any time soon -- even if her kids would like a big wedding cake.
"We've explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, was the greatest commitment you could possibly have," she says. "Once you have six children, you're committed."
It doesn't seem like Bill and Jane are bothered that their 47-year-old son isn't married to the mother of their six grandchildren -- Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 3-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. They look genuinely thrilled to be at Angie's side.
