She's got the six beautiful kids, the French chateau and yes, she also got the guy (and a hot one at that). Just how else can Angelina Jolie trump Jennifer Aniston? By making a million dollars more last year, that's how.
According to the "Hollywood's Top 40" list in the March issue of Vanity Fair, Jolie, 34, out-earned Aniston, 40, in 2009. (The earnings are based on what each star makes from her film-related work in Hollywood as either an actor or producer, and not from endorsements or other forms of income.)
Jolie came in at No. 32 on the list by making approximately $21 million last year -- $20 million of that for her action thriller, Salt, which hits theaters in July. According to Vanity Fair's estimate, she made another million in royalties from other films.
At No. 33, Aniston ranks just behind Jolie. She earned an approximate $20 million last year, but she had to shoot two films for $16 million of that. VF says she made $8 million each for The Bounty Hunter and The Baster. She took home another $3 million for 2008's Marley & Me (thanks to back-end earnings of its $243 million worldwide gross and DVD sales), and $1 million from He's Just Not That Into You.
Both leading ladies out-earned Brad Pitt last year, who came in at No. 40 on the list with approximate earnings of $13.5 million ($5 million for voice work in Megamind, $4.5 million in back-end fees for the Oscar nominated Inglourious Basterds, $2 million for executive producing The Time Traveler's Wife, $1 million for producing Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts and $1 million from royalties).
Of course, it's difficult to call any of these stars a loser, considering the lavish lifestyle their level of income affords! But when the list-topper is director Michael Bay, with estimated 2009 earnings of $125 million, it's fun to see how other A-listers stack up!
If you made as much income as Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston, what would you do with it? Chime in below!
