It looks like Angelina Jolie might actually be the evilest of them all.
At long, long last, the first image showing the future Mrs. Pitt as Maleficent, the title character in Disney's forthcoming updated version of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, has arrived. And, with horns, blood-red lips and those creepy yellow eyes, Angie looks every bit the evil sorceress.
Jolie, 36, has been attached to Maleficent for years, but the film just began production in London on June 13, which explains why Angelina, fiance Brad Pitt and children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne have recently been spotted around the city.
Maleficent takes the focus off of Sleeping Beauty (a.k.a. Princess Aurora) to depict what happens to Maleficent that causes her heart to harden so much that she decides to curse Aurora (played by Super 8's Elle Fanning).
"It's a really great script. I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted," Jolie said in an interview back in March. "My kids are very happy."
And so, it sounds, is Jolie. "It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman [in a different way]," she explains. "I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is."
