While a student at Moreno High School in Beverly Hills, Jolie's path took a dark turn, and the fearless young actress-model (in 1988) gained a reputation as something of a wild child who collected knives and frequently engaged in self-injury with her boyfriend at the time. "I grabbed a knife, and I cut him and he cut me back, and we had this exchange….I went through a period of when I would feel trapped, I'd cut myself because it felt like I was releasing something, and that it was honest," she said on Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio in 2005. Jolie graduated at 16 and moved out of her mother's home to pursue her Hollywood dreams.
